Based on points the node probably went to LCHS but coaches saw many positives & learned as expected things they need to work on.

The Wildcats will be scrimmaging the Las Cruces Bulldawgs
Friday, August 21, 2009 , at 4:00 pm at the Wool Bowl in Roswell,
NM.          The Clovis Wildcat JV
and Sophomore teams will be scrimmaging Las Vegas Robertson and Tucumcari on
Thurday, August 20,2009, at 4:00 pm.        
Booster club meetings will be Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm in the  film room
throughout the season.

The Clovis High School Football Booster Club and the
Clovis Wildcat football team will be selling restaurant discount coupon cards
Saturday , August 22, 2009, beginning at 10:00 am at Triangle Ace Hardware. The
cards feature twelve local restaurants and can be purchased for $20. They have approximately
$100 worth of value on them. This is one of the primary fundraisers for the
football boosters. Please stop by the large inflated helmet at
Triangle.

Inspite of the rain & some lightning the Cats played a very consistant game. Things that stood out to me was how the defense swarmed to the ball & they aggressive play of the line & linebacks, very active as they say. 2nd was the defensive ends stayed home, something often not seen till mid season in High School Football.

Also impressive to me was the offensive line & their aggressive play & blocking, which of course was followed by the running backs darting thru the holes & in some cases taking 3 or 4 with them.

Can’t over look the kicking game, punts were good & better yet if I am correct no return yardage

last but not least Senior QB impressed me with good feet, agressive runs & a live arm on target. a good start more so by all the little things done right than even what showed on the score board - duane
